Do you love your regular Yoga class and want to go a bit deeper into your understanding and personal practice of Yoga? If so, this immersive, 60-hour Foundation Course could be ideal for you. The Course provides a thorough grounding in physical postures (asana), breath work (pranayama), mudra (seals), mantra (sound), meditation and relaxation, all within the fascinating history and philosophy of the Yogic Tradition.
The course is structured to allow lots of time to share personal experiences within the group and to discuss and question the different approaches to Yoga that will arise on the course. It is a great interactive experience as well as being an opportunity for personal development.
Some people choose to take the Foundation Course to delve deeper into a topic they love and to enrich their own personal practice. The Course can also be – but doesn’t have to be – a perfect stepping-stone towards becoming a Certified Yoga Teacher e.g. (by taking the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma in Teaching).
The Foundation Course will run for 10 months (with no meeting in August). Each meeting will be on a Sunday from 9.30am-5pm and will include lunch and tea breaks.
I will be running an Introductory Day to the Foundation Course on Sunday 5th December- 10.00am – 4pm. You may be interested in attending this Introductory Day to find out more before committing.
Cost: Course fees are £600. There is a non-refundable deposit of £100 payable on acceptance to the course. You then have the option of paying the remaining £500 as a lump sum or by monthly instalments of £50. There is an additional BWY registration fee of £60 and students need to become members of the BWY (cost £37).
Booking: For an application, booking form and teacher reference form, and/or to arrange a chat to find out more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and put BWYFC1 in the subject line
“Rebecca has put together a fantastic Foundation Course that has opened my eyes to the enormity of yoga. She produces amazing resources and has given us access to so much information that have really helped me get to grips with some of the more challenging aspects to get your head around. Rebecca creates and holds an amazing safe space for practice and discussion and has helped me to reframe my ideas of yoga.“
“I’ve been practising yoga on and off for 30 years and I still found I learnt so much from doing this foundation course with Rebecca. It has really consolidated and deepened my understanding of the philosophy of yoga and made it a bigger part of my everyday life. I really recommend it to those new to yoga as well as experienced practitioners.“
“I’ve loved doing the BWY foundation course with Rebecca for a number of reasons; she’s a fabulous yoga teacher whom I trust and respect, she is generous with her time and energy bringing an enthusiasm and passion to her teaching in yoga classes and that comes through in the foundation sessions. My own practice has deepened and my learning and understanding of yoga has broadened since doing the course with Rebecca. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in furthering their yoga practice.”
“I would highly recommend this course to anyone who loves yoga as it will deepen your experience and understanding. I have loved learning about the history of yoga and diving into all aspects that I hadn’t considered before. There is something for everyone here. For me it has been so important to feel confident to get onto my mat and do my own ‘thing’. Rebecca has given me careful guidance on how to put a yoga sequence together, this has been invaluable as before I would not have done anything away from a class. I now can use this guidance and my intuition to let my body do what it really needs and there is something so liberating in this. I am also practising breath work and meditation regularly. Yoga is essential in my life and Rebecca’s skilful teaching has helped me to integrate it into my every day life.“
